The PlayStation University editors congregate once again! The Terrific Trio talk about news such as Insomniac Games finally calling it quits on Resistance and the future of the franchise, AT&T raising their prices on 3G plans for the Vita, and more in the news.

Next we tackle some more Vita-tastic news as Joe goes in-depth with his "Five Sleeper Hits of the PS Vita Launch" piece. Are the games really that cool, or should you just save for Uncharted? Find out as we dissect these games in our main event.

We finish the show with a brand-new community segment, including a contest for two Starhawk public beta vouchers -- listen to find out how to win! But because technical difficulties have kept us from posting news items beyond what we discussed on the show (we recorded it last Thursday and published it to iTunes on Friday, January 26), disregard the deadline mentioned within. The new deadline for entry is now Monday, February 6th. Post your entries below!

Also: Is there anyone who's never watched Star Wars? What's the name of the next Kingdom Hearts game? Is Joe really the weird one of the group? The answer to these questions and more on PS Uni Underground Radio!

It's been roughly nine months since we last launched a cosplay sensations feature on PlayStation University. In that feature we gave out a handful of prizes and tried to make things as fun as possible for everyone. This time around, just in time for the Holidays, we're looking to do the same thing once more. Over the last week we've scoured the internet and spent hours upon hours trying to find gaming cosplay images that we haven't really seen before and hopefully you haven't either.

Like before, each page will contain one image of a cosplay scene and it's up to you as the reader to correctly identify the character and game in which they're found. One you have all twenty answers and you think they're correct, feel free to send an email to contest[@]playstationuniversity.com. I suggest you use a valid email address because if you win, you'll probably want to be able to collect your prize. Giveaways will end on December 17th at 11:59 PM PST.

I bet you're wondering what type of prizes you can win this time around, aren't you? Well, here is a list of them.

1. Fist of the North Star Audio Clock

2. Fist of the North Star Signed Artbook

3. EDF 2011 Calendar

4. $20 PSN Card

5. $20 PSN Card

6. DC Universe Online Beta Code

7. Zombie Quarterly Magazine from Dead Rising 2

8. Quantum Theory Journal

10. A Copy of MAG

Worth sticking around and guessing for? I think so! The giveaway is open to people worldwide who have legitimate addresses.

Hey guys,

Today, we're going to roll out our favorite video game cosplay sensations feature. This feature will show off our 16 favorite cosplayers from around the world from various gaming titles. Some of the characters are more obvious than others, but there is a secret reason for this.

Instead of making it obvious as to who all 16 characters are -- we're going to give you guys a couple of challenging ones to guess. Now, here's the kicker, every single person who guesses all 16 characters correctly will have the chance to win one of two $20 PSN Cards that we will give away this Sunday. Not too difficult right? Email your entries to contest@playstationuniversity.com...

If everyone fails to guess the 16 characters, then we'll be sure to give the two PSN Cards to the two individuals who have the most correct guesses. Remember -- leave a valid email address linked to your comment letting us know you entered so that we can contact you if you win. You are also allowed more than one entry, so enter as many times as you'd like!

Here is the first image, check out the next pages to see and guess the rest (we suggest opening up notepad so you can number them).

Game soundtracks are something that have been around for an awfully long time, yet have never reached the level of appreciation that they should from the gaming community. Lately, more and more games have been releasing a soundtrack of sorts due to the extravagant amount of detail and effort that has gone into the sound of games through composition and delivery.

One of the coolest guys to work with in the industry is undoubtedly Amon Tobin. Tobin is one of the key contributors on the inFamous soundtrack alongside Jim Dooley, JD Mayer and Martin Tillman. These three extraordinary gentlemen helped compose and create the subconscious, emotion driving music that was featured in the background of the game.

While many of you may be unaware of it and have totally missed that these strong elements existed in the game, the sound of music has always had a strong ability to push things like your emotions and your adrenaline while gaming.

Thankfully, those of you who did happen to miss the presence the music had in a game like inFamous, you'll now have the chance to redeem yourself and be one of the cooler geeks while doing so. In cooperation with TopDollarPR (the company that represents many of the soundtracks you love and do take note of), PlayStation University is able to give away THREE copies of the Official inFamous Soundtrack.

This giveaway is open to all of our readers and we are willing to ship internationally. However, we accept no liability or responsibility if your customs department loses a package (we all know how crappy the postal system treats the mail). This will run until Friday at 10 PM CST, which should be enough time for everyone to enter.

Simply answer these two questions in the comment section below (while using a valid email address when you leave your comment) and we'll be sure to email you for your mailing info if you're chosen as a winner.

1. When playing inFamous, did you play as a hero or as a villain of the people?

2. What was your favorite moment while playing inFamous?

Everyone will be limited to ONE entry. Anyone creating more than one entry will be disqualified. Soundtracks will be mailed out following the contest dependent on when they arrive from TopDollarPR to us.

Good luck!

Winners Are:

1. CDJ

2. ScottSpeed

3. Celeste

I'll be sending out emails either tonight or tomorrow morning to get your mailing addresses. I just sent the emails out.

Thanks for participating guys and be sure to look out for our next giveaway.

Today, we've decided to roll out our latest and permanent Community Interactive Feature for PlayStation University. I understand and appreciate our community thoroughly and I also recognize that without our faithful and loyal readers, we wouldn't be growing at the rate we currently are. For that, I thank all of you.

However, with your daily visits and interaction with the website, it has helped create advertisement revenue due to the ads you see displayed on the front page as well as our forum (sign up here!). This revenue has been a huge help in aiding the sites increasing server costs (due to growth) as well as making it possible to purchase review copies of games and to give away things on the site.

For those of you who know me from a previous website or have grown to know me here, you probably know that I like giving back to the community as much as possible and whenever I can honestly afford to. I do my best to make things happen and today, it's good to know that we can finally roll out a Community Points initiative that I've wanted to open up from Day 1.

Alright. If you scroll down the page and look below where the "Polls" section is on the sidebar, you'll notice a new leader board that lists the "Top Users" of the community. The Top Users section has been removed, but everyone is still accumulating points on the website. At the end of every month, I will make the leader board public once more so people can see who the potential winners are . Currently, everyone should be at roughly 0 points. Users will be able to increase the point total by logging into your PlayStation University WordPress Account here (Sign up here if you haven't) and by leaving a comment on an article (Spam comments will be deleted and you will LOSE points if this happens -- please keep it appropriate).

Rules

Users who go back 2+ months to spam old articles for free points will be disqualified from that month's competition. This will be monitored closely.

Comment discussion between users is acceptable, but keep it completely on-topic and relevant to the news post being commented on.

Personal discussions will be deleted and subject to point deductions.

The Top 8 Users of every month will be thrown into a hat and their names drawn to receive the $20 PSN Card.

At the end of each month, the Top 8 Users of the month will receive an email to the same email account they signed up with, congratulating and thanking them for their active contribution to the website and ONE will also receive a Code redeemable on the PlayStation Network to add $20 into your PSN Account Wallet. In order to redeem this code, you will need to create a North American account. However, this Monthly Prize is open to ALL readers from around the world.

Just to be fair, staff members will not be eligible for these prizes (Authors on the front page), however, moderators and subscribers to the forum will all be eligible as will regular members. As the site continues to grow, the denomination of the PSN card that can be won will increase as well. Hopefully in the coming months, as the site grows, we can change the parameters of the contest to three winners who will be awarded a $50, $20 and $20 PSN Code each month.

----

If you guys have any comments or questions, feel free to leave them below. We'd love to hear feedback on what you think of this initiative and if this is something that you think will increase your interactivity within our community. We care about our userbase and take all of your feedback to heart, so always feel free to express yourself in a constructive manner when leaving feedback for the site staff.

Thanks,

The Dean.

UPDATE: Guys, this initiative isn't for you to abuse. Those found abusing this generosity by doing nothing but spamming all of the articles (even those 2-3 months old) will be disqualified for that month's competition. This is set out to be fair and should remain such.

I've removed a massive amount of comments and have adjusted both Xero's and Dr. Moogle's scores. If you guys continue the ridiculousness of it all, you both will be disqualified from this month's contest. I do not want our community turning into a spamfest. If we can't do something like this appropriately, we just won't do it at all.

On December 18th, PlayStation 3 owners will be able to redeem a code on the PlayStation Network allowing them to download the public beta for ModNation Racers. Since its unveiling at E3 2009, ModNation Racers quickly became one of the most anticipated titles of the entire show. Mixing the Play. Create. Share. genre with the fun racing style of cart racing, United Front Games displayed a title that should bring families together and creative minds out of the woodshed much like LittleBigPlanet has.

There are a couple of ways you could have landed one of these limited beta codes. One way was to purchase a copy of the Game of the Year edition of LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation 3 while the other was to sign up on an official Sony website and pray that you were selected. However, thanks to ModNation Racers Community Manager, Russell Ramone, MNR fanatics can now get their grubby little hands on a beta code right here at PlayStation University!

That's right -- We have tons upon tons of codes to give away and we'll be running the contest until December 17th at 11:59 PM CST. At that time, all codes will start to be emailed to the winners to enjoy when they wake up on the 18th (most will probably enjoy it after skipping work to check out Avatar though, right? Lol).

How to enter for a code is easy and takes 2-3 steps.

1. Go check out our ModNation Racers screenshot gallery and pick your favorite screenshot.

2. Link to it in your comment below.

3. Let us know why it's your favorite screenshot or why you're anticipating that portion of the game.

Winners will NOT be chosen at random. Winners will be chosen based upon your answers and how they appeal to us!

If you're looking to win other free stuff here on PlayStation University, be sure to check out our User's Choice Awards for the chance to enter and win games, DVDs and CDs!

Good luck to all!

Welcome to the inaugural PlayStation University: User's Choice Awards. Over the last week or so, we've been running a nomination thread on our community forums so that you, the user, could nominate your favorite games for our yearly video game awards. I'd like to thank everyone who participated and everyone who helped us in creating our polls for each category.

We've decided to go with 13 Main Categories this year and if everything goes smoothly, we'll expand on that number next year with some wildly inventive categories to add a little fun into the mix.

As promised, I have CDs, DVDs, and a few games to give away to all of you who vote and take part in the process. If you're wondering how you win, I'll tell you!

Your IP will be logged for every poll you submit your vote to. Once you're done submitting your choices, leave a comment below letting us know that you voted. At the end of the voting process (1 week from today), we'll draw winners for prizes. However, if the IP in the comment section doesn't match up with the IP votes from the polls, you will be disqualified. Prizes are exclusive to only those users who are voting!

(Remember, there are 14 pages, so click on each to vote in that poll!)

Inside the Game is a new feature here at PlayStation University that allows us to interview bands featured in certain Electronic Arts titles which also includes giving away two copies of the game and two signed albums of the band as well. Some of you who know me, know that I started this style of feature awhile ago and hopefully you look forward to seeing future installments from us as we continue to try and bring you the best content possible from around the industry -- including the music that helps make the game.

This time around, I interviewed a band from Europe known as Pint Shot Riot. Some of you United Kingdom lads may have heard of these guys and admittedly, I hadn't before this interview. However, their sound is fresh and they bring an eclectic mix of melodies to their tracklist that most other groups don't provide on one album.

I had the opportunity to talk to one of the members of the band named Baby Dave. We discussed what it's like living around those footy hooligans and how the band came to fruition.

You can check out our FIFA 10 Gallery here.

You can check out our FIFA 10 Review here.

I've included the interview below as well as details on how to enter the giveaway.

PS University: FIFA 10 is without a doubt one of the largest titles released year in and year out. What type of exposure and reaction have you guys received as a band with your music being featured in the game? Do more people seem to FIFA 10 is without a doubt one of the largest titles released year in be recognizing your music now?

Baby Dave: We’ve noticed more interest online for sure, and we’ve had kind messages
from many different countries. I suppose when we put our album out, which
should be early next year, we will see what kind of impact it has.
