Debut Madden 11 Trailer

GameTrailers.com has launched the debut trailer for Madden 11 only moments ago. While it’s great to hear Gus Johnson’s voice over on the game, the trailer itself felt pretty underwhelming.

Maybe you guys will feel different though, so feel free to check it out below.

  1. “Simpler. Quicker. Deeper.”

As a huge gamer, sports fan and someone who has been nothing but disappointed with the series this entire generation, I can honestly say that those three words are the last thing anyone like myself wanted to hear.

With this new mantra, the development team has proven once again that they’re completely out of touch with what fans of the sport (and games) really care about. Refined gameplay and a deeper franchise mode (on and offline)–that plays out like the exciting first round of the real NFL draft last night–is what we are looking for and have been asking about for years now..

With the brief amount of gameplay shown in the trailer, my initial reaction is that the transition animations still look extremely rough and sliding is surely going to continue to plague the series until they finally–if ever–decide to do a complete overhaul to the core gameplay.

These gimmick features that they continue to add year after year, while making marginal steps in improving the actual gamepaly on the field are beginning to catch up with them, and their sales numbers prove that.

  2. LLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEE

  3. It was meh. Then again, I’m not a football fan nor am I a fan of Madden OR EA Sports.
