Is Heavy Rain a console mover? Cage thinks so

3 Comments | posted

In a recent interview, David Cage, boss of Quantic Dreams, has pegged Heavy Rain as a console mover for the PlayStation brand. Cage feels that the reaction the company has received from recently released trailers and demos only solidifies the fact that gamers are looking to purchase a console specifically for this game.

“This experience should be available exclusively on PlayStation 3, and we want people to buy a PlayStation 3 because of Heavy Rain. We’re really happy at the moment – and I hope it’s going to last – that when we go onto forums we find people watching the trailers and stuff and saying ‘this is the game that’s going to make me buy a PlayStation 3′,” said the Quantic Dream boss.

I agree entirely with Cage’s sentiments and expect many gamers to purchase a console once this game drops as it’s the type of title to define a generation of gaming.

I certainly think that Heavy Rain could be a console mover, but in order for that to happen, advertising better start the ground and pound strategy.

This is a hard game to market to the masses, but Sony should find a way to do it!

I believe this game can move some major numbers and will be a much wanted experience amongst gamers.
Heavy Rain will move the game industry forward and just give Sony some more leverage when it comes to exclusive games.
I know Sony can advertise better now so Heavy Rain is definitely gonna be a console seller for sure.
