Mafia II shaking down stores August 24th, 2010

5 Comments | posted

Take-Two has officially announced a release date for Mafia II for the PlayStation 3. As expected, the game is releasing at the end of Q3 on August 24th, 2010 in North America with an August 27th, 2010 date for Europe. This would also indicate that Mafia II is not going to be the one game delayed into 2011 leaving only Civilization V, Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire with that opportunity.

Considering we’ve seen and heard a lot of new information surrounding L.A. Noire recently, we doubt that Noire is going to be the title pushed back. The same can be said for Civilization V just due to the following and the franchise’s magnitude overall.

Of course, this leaves Max Payne 3 on the outs and it’s the title we’re expecting a large delay for into 2011.

Regardless, expect to start cracking skulls in the wonderful Mafia come August.

Of the possibly delayed games, this is the one I’m most looking forward to, so I’m glad this is coming this year. Woo-hoo!

This game looks pretty cool, but I probably won’t pick it up. It’s almost April, and I’ve only played four games this year.
