MGS: Peace Walker, say hello to J-Pop

Today, I stumbled upon a Japanese trailer that was released for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. While it caused me to raise an eyebrow and completely throw me off of everything I thought it was going to be about, I can say Peace Walker is one of the games I still have a PSP for.

Still, why is it everything about the PSP makes me do a double take? Now, games are no exception. I had a, “Yeah! Peace Walker trailer!” then “What the hell is this?” moment.

Take a look at the trailer below and reply with what you think about it. Maybe for some of you, it’ll confirm why you want or have a PSP. For others, maybe you’ll want to scream out in agony. As for me, I’m merely hoping my logic in having a PSP for this game doesn’t bite me in the behind. Right now, I’m strangely optimistic about it.

Enjoy or shield yourself in absolute terror.

  1. I love J-Music, awesome news for me ^^

  2. This is one of the few PSP games I will try in awhile. I’m really digging Snake’s new design. XD

Oh, and what is it with Japanese anime and games where they have to do slo-mo jumps off of things with a side view camera?

  3. Is there an Otep Shamaya version? I’d rather see that one…

Uh… what? I’m scared for whoever feels this is the reason they need to own a PSP. They should also look forward to importing that Dead or Alive: Beach Resort or whatever the heck that game is :p

Maybe she’s a boss? She take take off her clothes with mindpower. Perhaps she will violently undress Snake and you must creatively shield yourself with random objects laying around the battlefield.

I think its just a promotional thing, maybe the girls character in the game really likes j-pop,and we’ll understand better when we play it.Remember Otacon is into Jap.anime.

  6. my Japanese is not great but from what i can understand , The title says Character song: Love Attack(or Attack of Love).Does that mean different character have different songs?

Ughhh J-Pop should’nt be in a Metal Gear Solid =/ We need Henry Gregson WIlliams to provide us one a masterpiece of a song like he did for the theme of Metal Gear Solid 2, and Metal Gear Solid 3

  9. That girl was very cute when she was dancing,LMAO!

  10. I don’t know about that underaged brat, but what I do know is that Kojima is laughing at all you guys’ faces lol

  12. *shields eyes and ears in terror*

    oh my lawdy!

  13. O_o so does she like Snake or something?

  14. actually, hold on….what is the purpose of this? to show of that one thingy?

  15. NO. Just, NO. There should be no J-Music in MGS. I usually like J-Music, but putting it in something else with that character(girl in the vid) is just annoying.
The song is okay and all, but the girl doesn’t fit the part. Her face annoys the hell outta me(just saying)

  16. Doesnt really fit in with the theme of mgs. Not sure about it. at first i was like wot the hell then i suppose it grew on me a little. as long as thats not the music in the background while playing mgs peace walker is going to be a awesome game. shame its on psp and not ps3

  17. lol I’m sure Kojima is delighted with the reaction this trailer got XD
as for me, I know this is not something I “have” to go through when playing the game. it’s the character’s theme not the game’s so don’t you people worry too much.
