Modern Warfare 2 not banned in Russia

According to earlier reports from multiple websites, Modern Warfare 2 had either been banned or recalled from local shelves in Russia due to the “shock” value level from within in the title. Of course, I’m referring to the act known as “No Russian,” which allows the gamer to kill hundreds of innocent civilians in order to further infiltrate a terrorist organization. Activision has since come forth to deny these allegations and has confirmed that the title is selling in Russia without any hitches.

“Reports that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been banned in Russia are erroneous,” said the publisher in a statement.

“Activision only released a PC version of the game in Russia which went on sale on Tuesday, Nov. 10.”

That clears that up.

  1. Holy CRAP. Whjat is with this??? Is this really bothering people that bad??? I mean there is way worse… You can skip the scene if you want….. so why is this so bad?

  2. The reaction to this mission is way over the top. I keep seeing that people “don’t understand the importance of No Russian” when its the defining moment in the game. This is the basis of the “fake” war between Russia and the U.S.

If you don’t want to play or see the mission, then skip it.
