1.2 million PS Vita units sold worldwide

Sony has announced that they have sold a total of 1.2 million PS Vita units worldwide since the handheld launched in Japan on December 17th, 2011.

From December 17th to February 19th only around 579,000 Vitas were sold in Japan. This shows that all other worldwide territories account for the other 621,000 or more sales.

Outside of hardware sales, software sales have exceeded 2 million units, meaning that each purchaser of the system, on average, bought around two games for their Vita.
