PS3 FFXIII reigns supreme in the UK

6 Comments | posted

Aha! Despite the ridiculous claims of some pre-order websites predicting a sales margin of 3:1 in favor of the 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII in comparison to its PlayStation 3 competitor, sales for FFXIII in the United Kingdom has fallen in the majority to the Sony side.

Rough estimates have it pegged at 54% right now and Final Fantasy XIII has taken the top spot in the weekly software sales chart as well. In total, FFXIII is the fastest selling title of 2010 thus far toppling games such as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Mass Effect 2.

Check out the full Top 10 below:

1. Final Fantasy XIII (Square Enix)
2. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (EA)
3. Just Dance (Ubisoft)
4. Heavy Rain (Sony)
5. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
6. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision)
7. Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing (Sega)

Wow Heavy Rain is still in 4th. Still have know Idea why Modern Warfare 2 is still selling, its pretty much a broken game now because of the community.
Also we all knew that FF13 on the Ps3 is way better then the 360 versions, and I”m glad the right version of the game won this time XD

Aw, man. Just Dance didn’t sell as well as I had hoped. That game deserves tons and tons of sales.

Hopefully Square Enix will realize that there’s a much more devoted audience with the PS3 and focus more on that console.

Not really UK related, but I just checked Amazon’s US bestseller list and the PS3 version is 7th overall, behind things like GOW3, Battlefield 2 ($40 today), and teh Pokemans (let me show you them), with the 360 version ranking 17th. I think the people have spoken on this one.

It always was going to sell the most on ps3 as its still a ps3 game at heart. Glad to see heavy rain still doing well as it deserves the spotlight. cant believe cod6 is still up there, id rather get battleifiled these days than cod.
