Thornzilla: answer to #1 – there are development discussions for a Hollywood movie already.

  • 1) How hard is it to fix the glitch/geometry issues on the maps?
    2) Have you considered changing the 50K/match cap?
    3) When is the next double cash weekend?
    4) Are you going to bring back anything from the cutting floor of Uncharted 2, polish it off, and release it as DLC?
    5) Have you though of allowing the community to make maps and skins? The user created content aspect of LBP what I have in mind and you opened up the non canonical universe with the heros skin pack. I realize this opens up the wild west, but it would extend the appeal of multiplayer even if you do not provide the editor tools, but do provide a method to share custom creations and let the community innovate.
    6) How do you envision expanding the web site player stats for Uncharted 2 – anything outside of stats?
  • Lots of questions:

    1) What is the best way to give feedback on the game? ND Blog, PS Blog entries? There is no official channel it seems, and I’m not sure all of the online community knows how to participate in feedback.
    2) What is ND’s policy on glitches and exploits in the multiplayer? Do they want feedback, do they punish or do they just fix issues in the code/game maps? This compliments the first question.
    3) How does ND view the servers and DLC for online multiplayer Uncharted 2? The essence of my question is: how long will they support the product, do they have any goals (2 years uptime, expand it to support Uncharted 3 multiplayer, etc.) and what metrics will they use to wind things down (less than 1000 players/day, etc.)?
    4) Is it possible that new co-op objective missions could be coming?

Thanks, I’m a big fan and haven’t gotten this much value out of a game ever before!

  • HeyAndy

    1. How difficult was it that you had to grasp the playstation 3′s alien architecture when developing uncharted 1 and 2?

  • Manicania

Naughty Dog, when are you going to make the game back to normal, and make Crushing its own playlist.

  • coolsalajr

Naughty dog, was making uncharted 2 harder than the original?

  • _coldkilla_25

    1. I heard a while ago that naughty dog was interested in making an uncharted psp any more info on that and 2.How did you guys decide on the player count for online and if it’s possible to increase it for some of the bigger maps? thx

  • One-Shot

1.Do you believe the PS3 has been maxed out when it comes to large graphical jumps like what we saw from Uncharted 1 to 2.

    2. What other games currently out or releasing soon are impressing you tech wise.

  • mitch

hey naughty dog, can you please put the multiplayer back to how it used to be unique and fresh and not at all like modern warfare,? please just make a separate playlist for whatever u did to the most awesome multiplayer game i have ever played.

  • scottspeed

What is your favourite treasure mystery in history and would you like to make it into the next Uncharted game if it would make sense?

  • Drew

Who came up with the original concept and story for Uncharted? Did Amy imagine it or someone else?

  • RandomZach

Awesome we get to ask ND questions! =D Ok
    1. Will we see the return of Rika Raja?
    2. How hard is it to implment such superb voice acting in charatcers, even new DLC characters?
    3. Why is Nathan Drake the only character in multiplayer to have wet fetures on his clothes?
4.Will there be a greater, more in depth understanding of characters in next Uncharted?

  • Dave-The-Rave

Please ask them how much more DLC they have planned for Uncharted 2 !!

  • 30NIGHTCRAWLER30

Please ask them if there is a new DLC coming and if they’re making it free.

  • RandomSteve

Naughty Dog first I would like to thank you for changing the multiplayer, I could not stand the grenades as primary weapons and over-powered shotguns, over-powered belongs in mw2. Also I would like to know if the rumors of Uncharted 3 being about Sir Francis Drake are true? Though I guess i’m trying my luck lol.

  • StarSpeed

Did it takes you guys longer to create all the cinematic scenes in Uncharted 1 or Uncharted 2?

  • KnightRobby

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was absolutely amazing. However, Uncharted 2 pushed the limits of technology beyond what gamers imagined. My main question relates to the amazing train scene. Here ya go:

    1) From a technical standpoint, how did you manage to design a moving level that adjusted to the PLAYERS action?
    2) Multiplayer support is outstanding. While competing with some heavy competition, what were your main goals to add into Uncharted 2′s multiplayer?
    3) How involved is Naughty Dog in the creation of the Uncharted movie?

Thanks for your time. Enjoy my fansite! :)

  • Balram

You’ve created plenty of DLC, but are you planning to put tonnes more content on the PlayStation Store just like Media Molecule did with LittleBigPlanet, and how many Uncharted 2: Among Thieves DLC can we expect?

  • StarSpeed

    @Balram

Good question, I also would like to know how many more DLC will they release for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. I hope they contine to support the game and release more DLC in the future.

  • Dreamer_Lion

    Another one:

How did you decided what needed to be improved from Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2 graphics wise? and so, what do you think will be needed to top Uncharted 2?.

We saw a huge improvement between the first and second games; Uncharted 2 has bigger enviroments AND lots of details and stuff all over the place. Seeing how having the engine from U1 helped making U2 more badass. Now that you have far more experiencie to build U3. . . . . . . . .

Finally, a personal suggestion: I think the graphics are awesome so for U3, I would like to see more enviroment destruction that is not scripted but reacts to player and enemy actions (a grenade blowing out part of a wall or leaving a small hole on the floor, gunfire blowing boxes and stuff).

  • jubjub5721

Naughty Dog, please return the multiplayer back to its original health and just make the lowered health in a new playlist, it would be much apreciated!

  • StarSpeed

Here is another question. Naughty Dog, are you planning on making an Uncharted 3 game? The Uncharted 1 and 2 games were both major success, so an Uncharted 3 game would be really good.

  • TurKadir20

Naughty Dog, what’s the inspiration behind the character Nathan Drake?

  • TRF

    1. What games have you guys been playing over the past few months?
    2. With Uncharted 2 setting new standards (graphics, sound, writing, voice acting, etc.), do you feel pressured to set even higher standards with Uncharted 3 or whatever your next project is?

  • taus90

i can understand about the infamous post but why this topic is back in latest section???

  • SonyJunkie

Yea, why was the topic moved up to the new article. Was thinking it was updated or something.

  • scottspeed

Have you considered making a spin-off title to Uncharted like giving background towards Sully or Chloe?

  • NightFalcon

First off, I would like to say that I am proud Naughty Dog fan! I have bought every one of your games released on the playstation consoles dating all the way back to the first Crash Bandicoot game.

With that being said, I would like to ask if there were any games, movies, books, etc that served as main influences towards making the Uncharted games?

  • kikaz

  • LastBoss

First if all, thanks for making such a great game and other great games since the PS1.
I would like to know how much of the system (PS3) is being used for UC2?A Rough estimated percent , would be nice. Are you guys interested in working on other genres, such a rpg based on Uncharted Universe or possibly a mmorpg, or maybe even a first person shooter? Thanks for making great games!

  • Moocows111111

Is there any hope for Uncharted 3 to be bigger, better, more graphically enhanced then the 150+ award winning Uncharted 2?

  • M.n.M

Nice work so far ND. Now on to the questions:

    1. Is it possible to see Eddy Raja return in U3? Yes he was pretty much mauled by zombies and who knows what. But he was a badass with a funny sarcastic tone. He complements Drake perfectly, with the two cracking jokes at each other and ready to kill each other at any second. It was nice seeing him again in the Eye of Indra, so seeing him again in U3 would be a real treat. So if Eddy somehow managed to survive and escape the zombie spaniards, and managed to squeeze into the third game, that would be amazing.

    2. Any new co-op objective maps for multiplayer? I know there was a DLC schedule created before, and it seems to be pretty accurate, but can you guys confirm it? If so, what new maps will there be? I’d love to see some co-op from the lost city. And also a few co-op levels from the first game. The jungle, the fort, and the monastery seem like great levels for some co-op action.

    Thanks

  • Thorzilla

I am just curious if you are going to release some form of a game of the year edition for Uncharted 2? Maybe include some dlc of some sort…but please continue with the dlc too

Will we ever see Jak and Daxter on the PlayStation 3, because it would be a shame if the greatest platform duo on the PS2(sorry Ratchet & Clank and Insomniac ^^) would get a release on the PSTriple :)

  • Alex Cullen

Saying Uncharted 2 was one of the best games in 2009 is not doing it justice. It was the best game released in 2009 and it is one of the best games of the decade.

My question to Naughty Dog is, Do you guys have any interest in buying back the rights to Crash Bandicoot and making a true Crash Bandicoot game for the ps3? I have extreme nostalgia for the original games you guys made and it would be a dream come true if you made a Crash Bandicoot game the way it is supposed to be made. The way only you guys can make it. I would rather see this game happen more than any other game.

    1. compared to Drakes Fourtune uncharted2 showed that Drake isnt all that of a nice guy, is uncharted3 going to explore a difrent side of Drake or is it going to focus more on some of his “comrades”
    2. one of the many things i was suprised when playing uncharted2 is that eweryone else in the house was watching me playing the game, when i heared that uncharted3 is going to contain co-op i was consirned that it would sacrifice some of the gameplay/cinematic sequences that made uncharted2 so special(the bridge, the vilage, the train, the other bridge) is this something i should be consirned about or is uncharted3 going to be just as movielike as his predecesor
    3. the uncharted2 multiplayer dlc was good but it made me purchase multiplayer maps and skins that were in the singleplayer of U1 and U2, you shouldent charge for something youre fans already got to play in the full game, but whit that being said, there is problem with charging for dlc that give you new story levels, new areas, something you hawent seen before in any game
more inovation, less copy and paste

  • dillon lin
