Resident Evil 5 to re-release with Sony Motion Controls

In a surprising turn of events Jun Takeuchi the man behind Onimusha and Resident Evil 5 has announced that Sony’s new motion controls will be playable with a Director’s cut of Resident Evil 5 which will rerelease to support the Sony Wand this spring. The DC edition also boasts a massive amount of content and most impressively it appears the criticism of the game’s many movement problems have been addressed in this DC edition.

As of now it appears that the player will use the triggers of the Dual Shock 3 to shoot the many weapons of Chris’ or Sheva’s as well as use what’s in their inventory. While the movement of the characters will be entirely dependent on the Wand itself. This also includes shaking off enemies that have managed to get up close for a grab and will probably be used to open doors and other gateways into new areas. Also included during Takeuchi’s appears are the details of being able to adjust the gameplay to your own preference, this most likely means you can choose to play the original way that RE5 released with, or choose to use the motion sensor and control setup. As for a release date all signs point towards a Spring 2010 launch to coincide with the PS Wand.

It’s good to see developers have started to incorporate Sony’s motion control to address complaints in their previous games.
