Samuel L Jackson and others feature in Heavy Rain short film

How far would you go for love? The catch-phrase question that’s tied itself to Quantic Dream’s PlayStation 3 game Heavy Rain. But it’s also the title of a new short film premièred at Notting Hill’s Electric cinema in London, UK.

The film was directed by playwright Neil LaBute, and coinciding with the PS3’s Heavy Rain, it asks its title question to many well respected artists, including Samuel L Jackson, Stephen Frears, Jean Marc Barr and Peter Bogdanovich.

With such a high-profile and high-brow art house event framing the release of Heavy Rain, its a wonder whether video games may finally shake off their mainstream media perception as immature. Enjoy ‘How Far Would You Go For Love’ below.

I really do hope the mainstream perception of video games changes. I’m tired of seeing people act like video games are just play toys

  7. 12carzam is just spamming out the ass. 3 posts in this that have nothing to do with Heavy Rain and the video.

It is cool to see Video Games and movies coming together. It is a short film, but could this mean the gap is closing. Even though games and movies are different, they usually still tell really good stories.

  8. Not the best actor, but a good enough video.

  9. oh lawdy, samuel jackson IS in everything!

@sonyjunkie: i second your words of truth

but this isnt the video is it? or am i just going crazy? probably not…but it MAY actually be good….i think i would have to play the game before watching the flick tho

  11. why not full fledged feature film? dark thriller

  12. Well, that’s certainly a nice question (And a little twisted one, if you ask Jigsaw. . . LOL).

It’s nice to see this type of reaction to something that is essentialy a videogame.

  13. lol samuel l jackson is in everything lol

  14. Samuel L Jackson is an awesome actor… sometimes…

  15. When is this short film being released?

  16. Nice advertising for the game but the video drags after a while. Interested in the final film though and think the question being asked really makes you question yourself.

Is there snakes on the plane also in Heavy Rain?

  18. I think that’s a very interesting way to put forward advertisement for a game, and I like how it would be impossible to convert this to most of the games that come out today. There are few that can boast such a serious questions as “How far would you go for love?”

I really liked it. Oh, also, NICHOLAS HOULT! <3

  19. This IS the short film as far as I’m aware…

  20. I think it was a good idea to get actors like Samuel L. Jackson to be in the short film of Heavy Rain. They discuss their thought and it is a great promotion for the game.
