Sony’s ‘Michael’ advert tops UK’s most shared

Despite iPhone 4S feature Siri becoming a rather big deal following its unveiling last month, Apple lost out to Sony and its ‘Long Live Play’ campaign in October when it came to the UK’s most shared advert.

‘Michael’, the spectacular advert created by L.A. agency Deutsch, took top spot of the Internet Advertising Bureau’s rankings after being shared over 485,000 times, crushing the 346,000 shares picked up by Apple’s ‘Introducing Siri for iPhone 4S’  advert in the process.

It launched on October 4, and features a number of the famous video game characters to have graced the PlayStation brand to date. If being shared almost half a million times doesn’t impress you, the fact it’s closing in on 10 million views should.

Other video game adverts in the IAB’s top 5 included Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s ‘Redemption’ trailer (217,790) and the Battlefield 3 simulator teaser for The Gadget Show (204,536).
