Last week the UK Software Charts showed that EA Sports’ FIFA World Cup had a strong showing in opening week sales as it took the top overall spot; however, it was amazing to know that the PlayStation 3 format outsold the 360 version. This week, it’s more of the same with the same title continuing its chart domination.
The real story though is how the PlayStation 3 owns four of the top ten slots in the chart. This is highly unusual as it’s no secret that 360 titles outsell its multiplatform counterpart on a regular occurrence. This time, Sony has outsold the Xbox 360 on two major releases — FIFA World Cup and Super Street Fighter IV — which may show a swing of support from UK gamers.
