With sales last reported at 4.65 million, you now know the importance of Gran Turismo 5's full release to Sony and the PS3. Now Kojima Production's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has over taken Polyphony Digital's preview output, with Konami reporting a further 0.65 million sales in 2009 (April-December) to the game's 2008 4.50 million sales. That puts Solid Snake's final story at 5.15 million sold worldwide. This sales feat also means that the PS3 exclusive has sold more than the PS2's Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance (before re-releases) which stands around 4 million. The game still sits behind the original Meta Gear Solid's 6 million and Metal Gear Solid 2's approximate 7 million.]]>
