Platinum Games (proud non-porter for Bayonetta) and SEGA are proud to announce that their upcoming shooter, Vanquish, isn’t just your regular old shooter. In fact, it’s going to be a brand new take on the shooter genre entirely.
According to Shinji Mikami in the latest issue of PlayStation Magazine:
“In making Vanquish, I wanted to create a game that was speedier and more acrobatic than other shooters,” he said. “It’s a brand new kind of shooting game that’s incredibly tense.”
Mikami adds: “I wanted to make a shooter where the player is active – taking people on. I didn’t want the game to be like other third-person action titles, where people are just trying to survive, taking pot-shots at enemies from behind cover. So it is this aggression and active spirit that I wanted to capture with Vanquish”
No offense to Mikami, but the description he’s giving can be used to describe pretty much 50% of the shooters available on the market. Considering the poor end result of Bayonetta on the PlayStation 3, it’s going to be hard for PS3 owners to justify continuing to support a title from Platinum Games. It’ll be interesting to see how this one plays out.

hum ps3 lead plat. that could be good be 4 ps3 owners and 4 360 owners it might be just a bit worse hopefully get wat we got wit bayonetta just 2 make them mad

Platinum Games better put 110% in this game and not give another crappy port like Bayonetta.
@ImLastBoss
Sega ported it, not Platinum Games. It was also patched so the load times are not as bad since you can now install the game.
sure hope so, i think the fps genra its getting too repetitif
Good to know that PS3 is lead platform other wise i wouldn’t even had touched it with a stick. By the looks of the article screenshot it seems to be a Halo but with different color scheme
