There have been too many instances during this generation of gaming where you hand over $60 for a new game and realize 6-8 hours later, you’ve already beaten it. It’s a harsh reality, because you know you’re only going to get maybe 50% of your money back if you decide to return it. Fortunately for Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans awaiting the game, game length won’t be a concern.
Speaking with PC Gamer Magazine, producer David Anfossi revealed that it should take roughly over a day to complete from start to finish and used play-tests as his reasoning as to why.
“So far with them playing about six hours every day, most of them don’t complete the game,” Anfossi told PCG.
What he doesn’t mention is that that is over a six-day grace period resulting in perhaps 36 total hours. However, it’s not too uncommon for the average gamer to outperform the tester throughout an experience, so we figure 35+ hours may be a little generous on overall story.
How important is a subject like this to you? Do you care if a game is shorter or longer before you purchase it?
For me is important if the game is long but with sustance, running arround does’nt count. i do’nt like open world. For me a great game is a game that have a great story with great graphics and take time to finish.
