Video games aren’t just for wasting a weekend  or looking at digital boobs covered with as few pixels as the raters will allow, they are also a place to find wisdom. Throughout the industry great writers have produced gems that stay with the player long after the power is pushed and the virtual world is extinguished.  While to list them all would be a drastic undertaking, here at PlayStation University we feel that any good education must include some of the greats. So class, get ready to take notes on the best of the best quotes to ever grace our screens.

Most Inspirational/Badass

5.  ”Sometimes everything you know in the world turns out to be a lie. But at the end of the day the lie isn’t what matters, it’s what you do after you tell it. If you work hard enough, you can make it true.”
-Hope (Final Fantasy 13)

4.  ”The hands of death could not defeat me, the sisters of fate could not hold me and you will not see the end of this day. I WILL have my revenge.”
- Kratos (God of War 3)

3. “The healthy human mind doesn’t wake up in the morning thinking this is its last day on Earth. But I think that’s a luxury. Not a curse. To know you’re close to the end is a kind of freedom. Good time to take…inventory. Outgunned. Outnumbered. Out of our minds. On a suicide mission. But the sand and the rocks here, stained with thousands of years of warfare…They will remember us. For this. Because out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves. We go forward like a breath exhaled from the Earth. With vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: We. Will. Kill him.”
-Price (Modern Warfare 2)

2. “You mustn’t allow yourself to be chained to fate. Human beings can choose the kind of life that they want to live. What’s important is that you choose life…and then live…”
-Naomi (Metal Gear Solid)

1. “I am Andrew Ryan, and I’m here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? ‘No!’ says the man in Washington, ‘It belongs to the poor.’ ‘No!’ says the man in the Vatican, ‘It belongs to God.’ ‘No!’ says the man in Moscow, ‘It belongs to everyone.’ I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose…Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city, as well.”
- Andrew Ryan (Bioshock)
