According to the unofficial PlayStation magazine PSM3, Sony and the Santa Monica Studio are hard at work developing God of War 4 and are rumored to having it ready by next year.
“PSM3 has heard from another source that God of War 4 is coming, and will hit in September 2012,” stated the print PlayStation publication. “Our source works closely with the God of War universe, and let slip he’d be working on a related project at the same time.”
Sony has yet to make an official statement regarding this rumor, however its likely to receive the usual PR “no comment” response.

Why games still follow trilogys of stories is beyond me. I rather see games utilize a full game to tell the story like Red Dead Redemption. Some games have the rights to expand like God of War 4 for example, but why follow the traditional trilogy mold when you do not have to. Certainly more then 3 to tell a characters adventures is a lot but I wont call it milking it unless literally the game is segmented to allow a sequel. http://godofwarsource.com/
