For the past few days there have been many rumors about Sony starting an “Online Pass” program that’ll be debuting with Resistance 3 this September. Rumors were actually true, as Sony has officially confirmed the “PSN Pass.”
Here’s what Sony said about this new online initiative: “Starting with Resistance 3 this September, we will be instituting a network pass program for PS3 games with online capabilities,”
Titles that are part of the program will include a code that’ll grant users “full online access for the title”, once you use it, the code is useless. The program seems like an interesting idea to combat the increase of used game sales, so if a consumer tries to sell the game to GameStop, whoever purchases the game, has to buy another code.
Sony has yet to confirm if future releases will include the “Online Pass” or if this is an exclusive feature of Resistance 3. It should be noted that there are several upcoming PS3 games with online capabilities like Uncharted 3 or Twisted Metal. Additionally, Sony didn’t detail what will be part of the locked content or how much the code will cost.

so to me this seems perfectly acseptable as long as the pass dosent limite you from playing the full game
like how some dewelopers are holding out content from the game just to sell them as dlc
(cod, gth, me,…)
I don’t buy used games unless they’re dirt cheap anyway so buying another pass isn’t a big deal to me.
