It was only ten days ago that we heard a whispering from Naughty Dog that Uncharted 2: Among Theives had surpassed 2.5 million sales, trumping the performance of its first PlayStaiton 3 game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. However, the word now in from Sony Computer Entertainment America is that the game has done much better than we had originally thought.
According to Scott Rohde, VP for Product Development at SCEA, Uncharted 2 has now surpassed 3.5 million copies worldwide. That’s certainly impressive and shows that Naughty Dog’s high-quality game has really pervaded the masses. It also makes Uncharted 2 the PS3’s fastest selling first-party title. Rohde writes on the US PlayStation Blog:
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has also garnered more than 150 other industry awards, has over 1.5 million online users worldwide, and has surpassed 3.5 million copies sold worldwide – the fastest selling first-party title for PlayStation. Not to mention, it’s established a new standard for games developed on the PS3 platform.
Good going Dawgs! A make.believe video of Naughty Dog’s co-president Christophe Balestra has also been posted, which you can enjoy below.
